Our Doctors
Dr Sureka
Dr Sureka, a member of the Irish College of General Practitioners graduated from the University College of Dublin in 2007. She worked as a medical officer for 2 years in the Mater Hospital, Dublin. She also worked for a year in the emergency department and also a year in the psychiatry department in Cork. She then went onto train as a general practitioner for 4 years in Co. Kerry on the South West General practice scheme. She has a special interest in Geriatric medicine and has a diploma in the medicine for the elderly from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. She also has a special interest in women’s health and has a diploma for Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Sureka is a registered cervical smear taker on the cervical check programme and has also completed a certificate in contraception.
Sureka loves travelling, swimming and music. She is originally from Sri Lanka and grew up in Singapore. She enjoys meeting new people from all walks of life. She joined our practice in 2016 and is looking forward to being part of the community here.
Dr Claire Connolly
Dr Claire Connolly completed her undergraduate training in Medicine in University College Dublin in 2013. She spent her Internship in University Hospital Waterford and immediately pursued post graduate training in General Practice with the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland. Claire’s hospital training includes rotations in Breast and general surgery, respiratory medicine, orthopaedics, paediatrics, emergency medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, psychiatry, palliative care, radiation oncology and medicine for the elderly. Most of her hospital training took place in hospitals in the greater Dublin area. Claire also obtained a scholarship during her undergraduate training in UCD which enabled her to spend time in a hospital in Philadelphia, USA, gaining experience in infectious diseases and nephrology.
Dr Claire has worked in general practice in Dublin city centre, Drumcondra and in Co. Wicklow. She enjoys all aspects of medicine but has a particular interest in Female Health, Menopause, Paediatrics and Dermatology. Claire worked alongside a consultant dermatologist in Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown in 2017/2018 in order to develop her skills in dermatology. During this time she completed a Dermoscopy course under the primary care dermatology society in the UK. Claire has a certificate in contraception and also obtained the Advanced Certificate in Long Acting Reversible Contraceptive Devices from the ICGP. During her training Claire completed a quality improvement project on The management of Menopause/HRT.
Claire became a member of the Irish College of general practitioners in 2018 after completing her vocational training. She then moved to West Cork, where she is married and living locally.

Our Nurses
Phil Healy: RGN RM
Phil is our practice nurse. She graduated from the Bons Hospital in 1987, followed by midwifery in the Rotunda Hospital in Dublin in 1989. Having then worked in the Rotunda for a year, she then returned to the Bon Secours Hospital and worked in midwifery, general, gynaecology and care of the elderly. She joined the practice in 1999 and qualified as a practice nurse in 2001. She is also a registered cervical smear taker with the cervical screening programme. She completed a module in UCC/MUH on diabetes management in 2011. (She provides sessions for antenatal care, childhood vaccinations, flu vaccinations, chronic illness management, wound management, warfarin clinics, smear taking.)
